Worms are welcome at the Bosbergschool
Why are so many school playgrounds featureless grey concrete areas? While it is undoubtedly practical, it is not very inspiring. The Bosberg School in Hollandsche Rading has chosen to do things differently. They have a green playground with a vegetable garden, which recently became home to a number of worm hotels.
The school organises a monthly nature morning when the children are taught in the outdoor classroom, help maintain the vegetable garden and learn about insects in the flower garden. The worm hotels were added so that they can learn all about natural cycles.

Nature is a pillar of De Bosbergschool primary school, which takes a rigorous approach to educational innovation. Because in addition to purchasing the worm hotels it has engaged an expert teacher.
